It is time for lunch! While our school year looks a bit different, I still enjoy putting together a balanced lunch for Mila. It is honestly one of things I look forward to most during the week. I remember vividly packing my son Ryan's lunch for the first time for preschool and I took such joy in it. I also started cutting Ryan's sandwiches into fun shapes. He particularly loved a dinosaur shaped sandwich and we keep that same dino cutter out on our counter. I love the memories tied to it. Of course Mila always requests a heart sandwich. Using a large cookie cutter to make any sandwich special is such a great way to get your kids excited about their food. My kid's lunches are my jam! I love getting creative and mixing it up every now and again!

We are so excited to be partnering up with NABISCO and Danimals to share with you my current go-to lunch and some ways you can make your own kids' lunches more exciting. You guys know Mila is obsessed with yogurt, particularly these perfectly sized Danimals Smoothies. She is also loving the new Limited Edition NABISCO MINIONS Cookies, because who doesn't love the MINIONS and tasty snacks from NABISCO? These tasty cookies are packed up individually which makes for easy lunch making! Be sure to keep a look out for these easy + fun lunch items.

You know you can't always have it sweet ;) I'm very glad Mila enjoys broccoli. Offering her to dip it into hummus is a plus for her. If your little one isn't too into broccoli, try carrots, sugar snap peas, or sliced red bell peppers! Mila will choose blackberries over any fruit, any day so you'll always find those in her lunch. We also bounce back and forth between peanut butter + jelly or turkey + cheese sandwiches. Sometimes we'll do a hot dog or a serving of rice and beans. Though Mila, like me, is a creature of habit and tends to enjoy the same thing over and over again. Which is fine with me, so long as she eats!

One thing that helps keep Mila's lunch fun is using these small bento style cups to serve the food in. She loves going through it and having everything have a place makes for a neat lunch where everything can be seen and smooshed together. Plus, it all is reusable! As I mentioned before, cutting Mila's sandwich into fun shapes is. a. MUST! We have all sorts of shapes from stars, hearts, a hand, glasses, lips. There are actual sandwich cutters out there, but we just use large cookie cutters and they work great!
