You all know by now that October is my most favorite month and time of year! I’m constantly finding reasons to dress up. Baking pumpkin treats has become a specialty of mine and there isn’t anything I love more than savoring every ounce that Fall has to offer. With Halloween looking so incredibly different this year, getting creative with your little ones seems like the perfect thing to celebrate the spooky season with. I am finding that we are doing these crafts below and many more every other day. Our craft station has taken over our dining room table! Truth is, you can make a monster or bat out of any medium and we are seriously getting good at keeping busy at home.

Find three of the easiest kids crafts below to help get you all into the spirit. Try finding most of your supplies around the house and get real creative! Pump up the spooky music, set out some treats for a really crafty time.

Happy Spooky Season Everyone! Love, Jacqui + Mila

Q-tip Skeleton Hand Print

Supplies; black construction paper, q-tips, glue, white paint, paint brush, white crayon

-Start by pulling all your supplies and covering your workspace to protect it from the paint and glue.

-Use the paint brush to apply the white paint to the inside of your child’s hand and down their form arm. Be sure to get a lot of paint on there to make a great hand print. Once you’ve applied the paint, have them gently press their hand + arm onto the black construction paper to make the hand print appear. Be sure to wash their hands and put the paint away before moving on to your next step. *Fun Tip if your little one is old enough, have them paint their own hand + arm!

-Your child can use the white crayon to write their name on your skeleton handprint or even make spooky decorations all around! Lay flat to dry and once ready, hang it up proudly!

Candy Corn Pom Pom Painting

Supplies; black construction paper, white yellow + orange paint, pom poms, clothespins, scissors. *optional candy corn for snacking!

-Start by cutting out a candy corn shape with black construction paper. I like to use black so all three colors show up really well.

-Clip a clothespin onto a pom pom and get your paint ready. Be sure to lay paper or a cloth underneath on the table before letting your kids paint. Let them get creative and if they like candy corn, have some nearby for snacking and inspo ;)

Mummy Sew Activity

Supplies; black foam sheet, white ribbon or string, googly eyes, hole punch, scissors, glue

-Start by drawing a body on the foam sheet. It doesn’t have to be perfect, I sort of went with a gingerbread man in mind. You can actually do any shape and color foam sheet you’d like. You can get orange foam sheets and do pumpkins, white foam sheets and do ghosts. Get creative!

-Once you cut out your figure, use a hole punch to poke holes all around it. You can do them as close or as far apart as you’d like. This takes a minute so I like to do this before bringing Mila in to do the activity.

-Next, have your little one glue some googly eyes to the head and let them dry a bit before moving to the next step.

-Now cut some white ribbon or string and have your little ones “sew” through the holes to make a mummy! I’ve found this is a good one to do while listening to spooky music. This is also a good aactivity because your kids can come back to it or unravel it and re-sew it!
