Iced Brown Sugar Matcha Latte

 

As you know, I’m a big fan of an afternoon coffee or tea. Ever since I was a little girl I remember my grandparents stopping life in the afternoon to enjoy a cup of coffee and pastry. I always got excited because it meant I’d get a little pastry myself. Now that I’m an adult I completely understand why the adults in my life took a daily afternoon break! THEY NEEDED IT!

I look forward to my afternoon coffee or tea everyday! It nearly acts as my reward for getting through the first half of my day. As well as fuels me for the rest of the day. I also love getting creative with my afternoon beverages and recently I’m stuck on an Iced Brown Sugar Matcha Latte! It is so simple to put together so I thought I’d share it here for anyone who needs a good afternoon pick me up ;)

First you’ll need to make your own Brown Sugar Simple Syrup which sounds more difficult than it really is. Plus, once you make one batch it keeps in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. So you can make it once and use it for a while. It also only takes 2 ingredients and just a few minutes to whip up. In fact the hardest part of this will be choosing a cute storage bottle for the syrup. But look, I’ve linked one HERE that works perfectly!

Once you have your Brown Sugar Simple Syrup made, the drink really does comes together QUICK! I love the Care/of Matcha Collagen, but you can use whatever matcha you like here. I add a bit of hot water to dissolve the matcha powder and then start building my latte. I also love my drink mixer/milk froth wand, I’ve linked it HERE for anyone who wants to check it out. It is quite a handy kitchen tool!

I’ve become obsessed with at home boba packs and add them to most iced drinks I make! I use these boba packs HERE, though if you are anti boba just avert your eyes and skip that part ;) Find the exact measurements below and enjoy a good afternoon break this week!


Iced Brown Sugar Matcha Latte


 
 

Ingredients

1 cup water

1 cup brown sugar

To make your drink you’ll need

1-2 tbs Brown Sugar Syrup

1-2 scoops of your fav matcha

ice + your milk of choice

*optional 1 boba pack

Makes 2 Cups Brown Sugar Syrup


 
 

Directions

Step 1: In a small sauce pan over medium low heat stir together 1 cup water and 1 cup brown sugar. Stir until the sugar has fully dissolved in the water and simmer for 8-10 minutes. Once it has cooled pour it into a storage bottle and store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. Don’t forget to add the date you made it somewhere on the bottle so you can keep track of how long it’s been in your fridge.

Step 2: To make your latte, add your favorite matcha to a glass. I like to add 1 tbs of hot water to my matcha and mix it well until the matcha powder has dissolved. But just follow the directions on your own matcha package.

Step 3: Then add 1-2 tbs of your brown sugar syrup. Honestly you can add more if you like it sweet or add less if you like it less sweet.

Step 4: I love adding a boba pack but that is totally optional.

Step 5: Then fill your cup with ice and top everything off with your milk of choice. I will say the Chobani Extra Creamy Oat Milk here works perfectly!

Step 6: Give a good stir and enjoy!
