Watermelon Candy Cocktail

If I had to absolutely choose a favorite cocktail it would definitely have tequila and incorporate sweet + spicy flavors. Ironically, I’m not watermelons biggest fan. HOWEVER, give me a watermelon cocktail and suddenly I can take down the fruit like I’ve loved it all my life!

Friends, my Watermelon Candy Cocktail has entered the chat! This cocktail screams Summer but also could be enjoyed year round. The candy notes come from the watermelon flavored liqueur, the spice comes from the Tajin rim. Of course it’s hard for me to make a cocktail with out Topo Chico … Listen if you like watermelon and spicy + sweet flavors together read on! Let me know if you make one before Summer leaves us.

What is important here is the chamoy and Tajin rim. It is sweet, spicy and tangy all in one. I love it and it truly enhances the cocktail. Chamoy is a sweet and tangy sauce that is used a lot in cocktails and Mexican candies. If you are unfamiliar with it I highly recommend trying it. I love this one HERE, it has more of a liquid texture which works great for rimming drink glasses and adding into cocktails. This Chamoy HERE is more thick in texture and works great as a glass rim or a dip.

Once you rim the glasses it is simple! Just add in your favorite tequila, watermelon flavored liqueur also known as watermelon puckers, a squeeze of fresh lime, a little extra drizzle of chamoy and top it all off with sparkling water!

To make it more fancy you can add a fresh watermelon garnish. Which I then like to add a bit of chamoy and Tajin to ;) This cocktail is gorgeous!

3 oz watermelon flavored liqueur

fresh lime

sparking water

chamoy

Tajin

fresh watermelon

Directions

Step 1: Start by rimming your glass. On two small plates pour chamoy in one and Tajin in the other. Dip the rim of the glass first in the chamoy and then in the Tajin.

Step 2: Fill the glass with ice.

Step 3: Pour in the tequila and watermelon liqueur.

Step 4: Next squeeze in fresh lime. I like to add two lime wedges. This is optional but you can also add in a little drizzle of chamoy for some extra tanginess.

Step 5: Now top off the cocktail with sparkling water. My favorite is Topo Chico but any bubbly water will do. Give it a gentle stir.

Step 6: Add a watermelon slice as garnish and enjoy!
